Gamebook of Loathing?

I opened the Christmas present, which felt like a paperback book. Nice.

“Escape From the Prison of the Tower of the Wizard” – a Decision Paralysis adventure. What the heck? A indie game book!

Then I turned it over and saw that it’s by Zack Johnson. Whoa, wait – the Kingdom of Loathing guy???

Yep. So I knew that this was going to be a goofy adventure, with puns and fourth wall breaks and drinking booze.

After we finished Alice’s Nigthmare in Wonderland later that same day (Christmas) we started on EftPotTotW as we call it for short. And yeah, not disappointed. The book calls us out for lying, encourages us to make an ink pen by filing down our fingers, and has us write the word “swor” on our hand to remember we have a sword. Strap in, because we’re still in chapter A.

This is a really fun time.
