Dispelling the Darkness Over Arkham

Last night we finished the last of the mapping for The Darkness Over Arkham. and today I finished my scans and writeup.

Fun time. Not as deep as the ACE gamebooks, but honestly few game books are. Still, it was a good time for a few weeks.

First off, I love the Arkham Horror series of board games, so before we even turn to page 1 I’m stoked. It has the familiar characters, sanity and health, clues and resources and doom.

The atmosphere is laid on nicely, with JG’s descriptive writing of the scenery and of the people. The scenarios are rich in horror and the writing is engaging. There are a few plot holes, but you have to work for them.

The Darkness Over Arkham brought us many evenings of eldritch horror investigation.
